This is the first three-hand watch in the new FERRUM line by Grieb & Benzinger. Its rare Patek Philippe caliber with the serial number 185192 finds its origins in the year 1920. The auction houses had described this movement without its most important element, something that was only discovered after it was deconstructed: the Maltese cross winding in the spring barrel.

FROM THE SHADOWS INTO THE SUNLIGHT

Patek Philippe Caliber 185192 from 1920 was always hidden behind a dial, which kept the mechanical treasures inside the watch “buried.” From the back it was possible to see the difficult-to-produce wolf’s teeth, an element we have revived in our own Tourbillon Remontoire. But inside the movement, elements like the Maltese cross winding in the spring barrel and the “beating heart” balance only come become visible in our FERRUM Grey Appearance.
