The Night & Day, a wristwatch with exceptional time display and sound. This custom realization from the Aurum line is striking in one particular element that emphasizes the artistic skill of Grieb & Benzinger: the 24-hour revolving day/night display especially designed for this project was painted by hand after being previously engraved in a cartoon style. The color gradients between day and night are like those of an oil painting, which at first seemed technically impossible given the materials and colors. The weight of the disk as well as the amount of paint applied had to be adjusted to the power of the movement’s drive in order to guarantee precision. The chiming as well as a minimalist hour-and-minute display top this watch off.
